Oyster Mushrooms from Northcutt Ranch

The Oyster Mushrooms are growing like crazy! Yesterday we made Pasta with Oyster Mushrooms in a tomato sauce. It´s definitely my favorite kind of mushrooms.

Recipe:
Chop a handful of Oyster Mushrooms
Fry in a frying pan with some salt and butter
Add: two tomatoes, ham, black pepper, parmesan, ginger, basil and two tablespoons of sour cream.
Serve with pasta

After dinner we went for a walk. We took Trigger with us and Neikka jumped the fence and joined us too.. When we got back we didn´t have any electricity or water. Luckily we have a lot of candles and the evening turned out to be quiet nice anyway. The electricity came back this morning. Makes things a little bit easier. Being without water is the most difficult part when you have children and animals. Especially during the warm season.
Today we´re going to look at some alpacas. I´m excited about that, I´ve wanted to have alpacas since I was a little girl. I have a project in mind making alpaca clothing as a small business. We´ll see about that, it´s still in the future. It´s going to be very interesting to visit the alpaca farm today and meet the animals.

  1. Mushrooms, wow!!! I love mushrooms! I remember when my mom always cook sizzling mushroom, it's so delicious I could eat the whole plate! I've dreamt of living in farms, away from the hustling cty scenes. Wishing it someday!

    1. Thank You so much! You should try them out if you like mushrooms. The taste is a little bit like chicken if you fry them for a couple of minutes. They are really delilcious. You can order the start kit from backtotheroots.com or buy it at wholefoods (we did that). Doesn´t cost much (less than twenty bucks) and then you can harvest as many time as you like. They just keep coming back!
