I know that they say that you can´t spoil
babies. I believe that´s right. But I also believe that they definitely can have
opinions from an early age and not only about their “needs”. When Hayley gets
bored she wants music, go out to the horses or take a bath. She has a special
cry for that, it´s not a real cry just kind of a cry. If I go and get the Baby
Björn that she always sits in when we´re around the horses the cry stops. The
cry stops when she sees the baby carrier, not when I put her in it or when we
walk down the stairs. It´s like she anticipate fun time. Same thing when I turn
on the water to the bath tub. From what age can babies start anticipating
things?
Today Hayley and I spent most of the day
outdoors in the garden and with the horses. Several times when I turned my back
to the horses and started to walk away from them she started that cry that
isn´t really a cry. When I stopped and faced the horses again she stopped! We
watched the horses for a while and then I tried to do some other chores,
instantly that cry came back. Only as long as we stayed very close to the
horses she was content. She stayed awake for four hours straight in the baby
carrier which never happened before. When we got back inside she fell asleep
when I was feeding her. So did I! She is so interested in all the things that goes
on around her. I love seeing the world with her eyes.

ReplyDeleteVad roligt! Välkommen! Jag har bott i Alingsås nio år :)
DeleteI agree with you about babies starting to establish their likes and dislikes early. I remember my daughter having some quirky things she liked from the very early on. Now that she is three almost four some of those early quirks have been replaced with new quirks--but she is still as opinionated as ever about what she likes and does not like.

I love it that they have opinions! More likely they will speak for themself when they get older I think. At least that´s what I hope. I have an older boy as well, he´s seven and I always encouraged him to form his own opinions about the world and the things he sees.

Hayley is adorable! I am a brand new mama to a little 5 month old and I would have to agree.. not spoiled.. but definitely has her own opinions! :)
ReplyDeleteThank You Brittany! Do you have a boy or a girl? I have one of each. Being a mother is truly a blessing :)
