Update on our Oyster Mushrooms

Three weeks ago I wrote about our little mushroom farm.

Here´s an update of what happend with the two larger lids that we started that day. The Oyster Mushrooms have been growing like crazy. The only thing we´ve done is giving them a little bit of water every day. When we first bought the start kit we payed about twelve dollar, that have been our only expense! The coffeeground we use are from Starbucks and they give it away for free. So for twelve dollar we have all the mushrooms we can eat. We just get more and more. So far we´ve been growing them in our muddroom, now we are moving some of them outside. To be continued :)

Yesterday Philip made pasta with Oyster Mushrooms and Parmesan cheese. It was delicious! Feels very good to eat food we produced ourseslves. Our longtermgoal is to produce 90% of the food we eat.
